Airline pregnancy rules

If you are in normal health with no pregnancy complications, we endeavour to keep your travel experience as normal as possible. However, beyond 29 weeks, Turkish Airlines requires you to produce a medical certificate specifying your expected date of delivery and any special requirements so that we can serve you in the utmost comfort at this advanced stage of your pregnancy.

Hot Tips

Airline Pregnancy

Wear clothes that are comfortable and layered.
Hot tip: Pull on compression stockings to facilitate blood circulation.

Turkish Airline relies on information given to them by the passenger about their stage of pregnancy. For this reason, it is extremely important that passengers give the correct information about this.

Pregnant passengers can book up to the 29th week of pregnancy, on condition that the passenger has not had any complications or medical concerns raised by a doctor.

Passengers travelling during or after the 29th week of pregnancy need to provide a medical certificate or letter signed by a doctor or midwife. You will not be accepted on the flight without a letter confirming:

  • Confirmation of a singleton or multiple pregnancy.
  • That there have been no complications during the pregnancy.
  • The estimated date of delivery.
  • The latest date your doctor expects you to be fit to travel.
  • That pregnant passenger is in good health.
  • That there is no known reason that would prevent passenger from flying.

Pregnant passengers are not allowed to fly after the 32nd week of a multiple pregnancy or the 36th week of a single pregnancy.
